We use an Artificial Inteligence Model to automatically cut out the skies in our images.
Because of this, some may not be perfect. They are intended to help speed up your workflow.
How does it work?
The model is trained to detect and determine what a sky is and also detect a visible horizion line. It then generates a depth layer mask (also available to download) creating a high-resolution PNG version that we save and make available for download.
It's not perfect but we are improving it over time, so we will periodically re-generate the depth layer masks. We think it does a pretty good job most of the time.
We automatically stitch together preview JPG's that you see on the MattePaint Gallery.
